With my stuff, for instance . . . I'm really sensitive to tone. I want my writing to be evocative. So when the tone's off, I notice that very strongly, and it's frustrating to read, especially if I can't think of a way to fix it. So many of them just seem . . . flat.
On the other hand, there's some stuff in there that I think is great and that's perfect tone-wise, but there's something else that stops me from finishing it. For instance, the Madara-related one that Kishi's gone and ruined now. (Although I think I'll be able to reconstitute it as soon as we find out for sure who fake!Madara is . . . . ) And then there's a Hetalia one that I found that I hadn't even realized was on my computer. Reading it, I just thought it was amazing; every sentence was exactly what I would ideally want it to be. But I have very mixed feelings about ever even writing more of it, much less posting it, because of the subject matter. I always seem to be the person complaining about people in this fandom not taking sensitive subjects seriously enough, so maybe I should, you know, follow my own advice once in a while . . . . :P
So frustrating! Almost everything in the folder needs to be extensively rewritten.
Otoh,
ETA: Also, totally unrelated, but you guys, you guys, I finally caved in to the seduction of the interwebz and started watching MLP: FIM. Lol, ponies. I watched the first two MLP series all the time when I was a kid.
